How donations actually flow.

In one sentence: we do not handle donor money. The diagram below shows exactly how a dollar moves from your pocket to a child being diagnosed in Northern Uganda.

1

You give

Donor sends funds via M-Changa, GlobalGiving, or partner bank transfer.

2

Funds land directly with the partner

Money arrives in the partner's registered nonprofit account. Ibara is never on the path.

3

Impact reported back

Partner reports impact to donors and to Ibara. You can ask any partner for an update at any time.

Our commitment

Ibara is not a registered charity.

We are an independent, student-led initiative. Our role is to build screening tools, train teachers, and connect families with verified partner organisations on the ground. We deliberately do not handle money.

We never receive, hold, or process donation funds.

Every donation goes directly to a partner's own registered nonprofit account. The two main paths are GlobalGiving (a US fiscal-sponsorship platform that issues tax-deductible receipts) and M-Changa (an African crowdfunding platform that supports mobile money and bank payouts to local nonprofit accounts). Where neither fits, partners share their bank details with the donor on request.

We verify every partner before listing them.

For each partner we review legal registration documents, organisational leadership, and current programs. We list registration numbers and contact details publicly so anyone can verify independently.

We list contact details publicly.

Each campaign page includes the partner organisation's email, phone, and physical address. You can contact any partner directly to request impact reports, financials, or a video call before donating.
